Justice Delayed and the Mills of God

 Justice delayed is justice denied, some say. I have already had several reports of violence this first week of school; some brought trauma from home; some were visits regarding past violence. One relative of a crime victim was really broken up, as he has come to realize that Justice may not be forthcoming.

Trump? Straight Outta Compton

About twenty or thirty years ago
(20-30?! ?shut up!), the youts decided that gangsta and jersey and vulgar and fear and violence and pride and BADASS was a nice, feel-good, top-o-the-foodchain kinda thang.
According to sociologist Jackson Katz, young black males
sampled attitude and behavior from east coast organized crime stereotypes,
 young white males borrowed from young black males,
young women played along in order to be cool.

And while there have been thousands of books written about police brutality, black on black crime, poverty and disenfranchisement, self-determination, affirmative action, the way of nonviolence, hate and love...
the kids continue to follow the lead of the [vapid,  filthy   corrupt greedy manipulative, ultra violent] media, embracing much that is in-your-face, lewd, nasty, proud, badass.
In fact,
 media that are NOT depraved and revolting are impugned as weak, puritan, and hopelessly old fashioned....

and transcend all 

such attempts to categorize...)

OK back to Compton...

Those connected with the aging NWA, no doubt at least partially prompted by current affairs, have released a biopic recounting some of the issues around the badass scene that came outta a very dangerous place to live out on the west coast.

The movie has opened to generally positive reviews. It was full of humor, and the poignancy and politics and music notwithstanding, there was more laughter than any resentful anger at the showing i attended; (i cannot understand the need for increased police presence at theatres after the show, as some newspapers reported)...
The attitude represented in the flick has over time, to a certain depth, gone mainstream.

It struck me after the movie, that Donald Trump has captured and displayed the attitude of many who are tied into talkin' strong, being bad, taking no prisoners, and calling fools, fools. There are certainly enough people in the 12 to 65 year-old range to give him the leads reported in all the polls.

Insofar as Republicans go, those voters have been tricked, lied to, shanghaied and bamboozled election after election.

No matter what they vote their people in to do, when the politicians get to the Big Party they are shorn of their locks, they lose all courage, and they lick the Delilah boots that they are shown.

On the Democrat side, the party line has become indistinguishable from flat out socialism with some communistic toppings. Fine if it's what you want; for many democrats it is NOT their father's party and

 they are remembering all the things in the 60's and 70's that were very important to them being kicked to the curb and treated like garbage....(free speech, anyone)?

The elite in Washington, democrats and republicans, no longer care about what the population thinks; they no longer answer to the people. If they toe the correct line and lick the correct boots they are protected by the media, no matter how hypocritically they act or how hard they betray their constituents. If they do not bow, kiss and vote correctly, they are marginalized into nonexistence or destroyed.
