Is Human Life Sacred???

"Today marks the 41st anniversary of two Supreme Court decisions:  Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton. Those decisions sparked a contentious debate between those who would deny legal protection for babies in the womb, and those who [contend] that those babies constitute “life” as understood throughout history and affirmed in our Declaration of Independence. ... [56 million babies since 1973 have been aborted in the USA.]

Roe v. Wade was the infamous case in which Norma McCorvey was used as a plaintiff ...to overturn laws restricting abortion in Texas. A decision upholding Texas law was ultimately overturned on appeal by the Supreme Court, which found a heretofore unprecedented “right to privacy” in the so-called “due process clause” of the Fourteenth Amendment. The “Despotic Branch” divined from their “living constitution” that this right entitled a mother to end the life of her baby before its birth. Simultaneous with Roe v. Wade, in Doe v. Bolton, using the plaintiff Sandra Cano, the Supremes determined that any complaint – including headaches – could be used as grounds for requesting an abortion.

Since the decisions in those cases, both McCorvey and Cano have recanted their testimony. Norma McCorvey said plainly, “I think abortion's wrong. I think what I did with Roe v. Wade was wrong,” and she has stood by those words in the years since. from article

next i will post an alternate view.

The Poster said that she will post an alternative view later, I think we will see more about the message that she is trying to send.

I would like to interject a couple of thoughts.

It just seems to me that the issue of abortion is often being promoted as women's right. The soundbite of "My Body, My right", in my opinion, is a result of advances in Medical Techonlogy that has somehow been transformed into a human right. Seems to reek of entitlement. Let me ask you, was abortion a "right" that was being denied a 100 years ago? When Medical Techology was not advanced enough to have safe abortions? It makes me wonder how we, as a society term as a right.

Another point. What about the male/father in all this? Currently the male/father typical does not have a say in the matter, he has go along with what the women says, is that fair in all situations and circumstances? What protections and to have a say, under the law for males and fathers?

I kind of have a neutral stance on abortion, I could say that I'm undecided on it. I think it is a VERY complex issue, that has no easy ansewers to it. But it seems that too often the life of the baby is secondary when you look at typically disscussions about abortion. I think that is very sad.
